Bartlex is an IT platform which offers registered users the possibility to swap used video games, with exclusive reference to the new generation consoles.
Video games are an art form, and as such, we believe they should be easily accessible. This is why Bartlex’s mission is to allow people to play video games at a low cost. Through an original e-commerce system, the site puts itself in an innovative position as compared to its competitors: it guarantees users a clear simplification of the swapping process, while allowing them to save at least € 20 per operation.
Tommaso Baglioni, Leonardo Arrighi and Alessandro Longo (economics students), Francesco Bindi (law student), Filippo Baglioni (forensic professional and MBA student) and Marco Esposito (IT researcher and programmer) comprise the Bartlex team. Their passion for the video game entertainment industry provides them with a deep knowledge of that market, the problems linked to it, the needs of its users, and its enormous economic potential.
Thanks to a value-related proposal based on sharing, fun, and experimentation, Bartlex perfectly aligns itself with the aptitude profile of the average videogame player. Equally important is the fact that the tool chosen to actualize that value-related system is consistent with a propensity for e-commerce on the part of this sector’s users.
A distinguishing characteristic of Bartlex is the complete computerization of the buying and selling processes. This translates into the absence of the often tiring traditional steps, such as negotiations, purchase agreements, and transferring money between users once the game has been delivered. In fact, the platform intends to make use of virtual money, a “star”, which will be employed by users for internal exchanges on the platform. These choices both reduce costs to the minimum in economic terms and time, as well as maximize the possibilities for buying.
We strongly believe that through social cooperation between videogame players, and the resulting lowering of costs, our users can rediscover the carefree pleasure of experimenting with videogames. Just as children are free to have fun thanks to their parents’ protection, so will videogame players be free to play, thanks to the work of Bartlex.
