Tueke

Tueke, the start-up dedicated to travelers and hotels is now online and promises to revolutionize the world of tourist bookings.

Travelers with specific budget limits and hotels willing to sell their unsold rooms have a new virtual spot where to meet: Tueke, the innovative startup incubated by Speed MI Up, is active and available at www.tueke.com.

Thanks to Tueke, Travelers choose their destination, the rate and the type of accommodation, letting hotels compete for their presence. In turn, hosts can decide who to accept among Travelers listed on the platform.

Traditional roles have changed and the benefits are clear to everyone. Hotels have the opportunity to avoid having empty rooms by cutting the costs of customers’ research, they pay lower fees, and can select the right customer, at the right price, at the right time. Moreover, being a private arrangement between Hotels and Travellers, the former don’t have to publicly decrease their rates.

Besides a tailor-made made offer, Travellers can save time. It’s indeed estimated that a Traveller usually visits 22 websites before completing a booking, a chaotic process that doesn’t always lead to the desired results. Tueke makes the process shorter and gives a better value for money to the Travellers. For example, hotels can optionally offer benefits while competing to award the Travellers’ bookings, such as free breakfasts or free cancellations.

Today, Tueke is available to the Hotels of Milan, invited to register for free by entering their profile and the types of rooms they intend to offer. It’s estimated that in the city of Milan 13,000 rooms remain unsold daily, 35% of the total. The website will soon open to Travelers and other Italian cities. The project also involves the collaboration with non-profit organizations to provide a stay "out of town" to those who cannot afford it.

Tueke reserves the right to select hotels to ensure quality; among the ones that have expressed their interest, there are already important national and international hotel chains.

In Maori, Tueke means "luggage", a way to highlight the international nature of the company and the direction it’s moving to. The team is composed by three founders: two of them expert in tourism and hotel business, based in Italy, and one living in San Francisco, in charge of the technological development of the platform.

The memory of a trip is composed of several factors: the places visited, the people met, but also the hospitality received. If the first two are beyond Tueke’s control, the last one is definitely not. Travelers and Hotels know it, Tueke too.
