Carra.io combines the reliability of a car dealership with the flexibility and potentiality of an online service, replacing the dealership with digital services available at home.
The reference market is that of online used cars, which the Italian financial newspaper Sole24Ore estimated at 6.5 billion euro in 2016 (out of approximately 60 billion per year in the automobile market) This value refers to purchases which start online but conclude offline, through traditional channels. Carra.io, however, wants its clients to be able to conclude the purchasing (payment) phases online as well.
Time, value, and a guaranteed transaction are essential for an individual who wants to buy or sell a used car. This is why carra.io wishes to make the purchasing phases of a car and several after-sales services smarter and more efficient.
Traditional features of selling a car, such as the appraisal of a used car or a test drive, become home services with carra.io. Just like a classic dealership, carra.io acts as the guarantor for the transaction, and handles customer relations, paperwork, and after-sales assistance. However unlike a dealership, carra.io manages everything online and through mobile devices, offering ‘money-back guarantees’ as well.
In addition to this, it provides a pricing system that offers competitive prices for both the seller and buyer of used cars.
The founders of carra.io are Matteo Cesani and Andrea Cristini, two 30-somethings who both have 10 years of experience behind them in e-commerce, marketing, finance, and entrepreneurship. Carra.io will start in Milan, however its aim is to become the leader in online, used car sales in Italy.
